Amit summarizes... 15.8.08

Exactly 10 days passed by. Good timing for “inventory count”:

10 camping nights: kids are always in the van, Talia spent 7 and a half in a tent and the 1 and a half in the van, Amit – 8 tent and 1 van.
One night in a none-facilities camping of the QPWS (Alligator Creek). Too many Wallabies (small Kangaroos), too much dust.
The full list for the record:
Cairns– 2 nights
Daintree – Cape Tribulation
Lake Tinaroo (Atherton)
Kurrimine Beach
Mission Beach (2 nights)
Alligator Creak (Townsville)
Airllie Beach (1 + 2 nights)
2,100km so far and counting.
Aus is big! Toyota make good cars!
We “arrange things” most of our days – for moving out to the next place, to get settled in the place we just arrived, to plan ahead, to prepare a meal, to clean a meal, and so on… this is all about arranging and organizing so far…
Nights are cold. It seems that for us, coming from warm hazy Singapore, it is “more colder” as Shira would put it in her native Singlish…
Except from Lonely Planet and maps – no time to read books (we brought about one thousand or so..)
Home Schooling? – The kids can’t even pronounce “school”…
Internet? It is not existing in Aus, at least when you are on the roads. And if found - it runs on damn slow connection and cost a fortune (or you have to buy a coffee for 10 $Aus for 30 mint surfing...) Where is the wired city?
We tend to say that every thing that is not quite working for us now, will be ok/better/improved when we get to NZ… kind of optimistic self convincing …
We enjoy, we learn many lessons, and we look forward for more.
