Few days ago I could finally track the moment I was longing for. This is what I’ve kept dreaming about when thinking about this trip in general and particularly in New Zealand. We reached a beautiful camping site in Pakiri, located on the east coast. It was late afternoon and the sun was out, so we took out the chairs and the tiny table. We prepared coffee (for adults) and ate chocolate and were sooooooooooooo happy and relaxed. Yes, sometimes it feels as if we’re on a holiday... We then decided to have a competition – who’s taking the best shot of this beautiful moment. That is why we have 5 pictures above and in each one of them one of us is missing (Feel free to pick the best one). I personally think that Shira’s is the best.
Of course the sun disappeared after 20 minutes before it returned again so we went to take a walk on the beach. We saw the most beautiful waves ever! Sorry, no evidence for that yet.
We left Pakiri two days ago heading west (still on the northern part of the north island). The west region is even windier, and during the night we stayed in Dargaville the storm was so strong, that Amit and I were awake most of the night, worrying that our motorhome is about to flip over. Well.. it didn’t.
Tomorrow we’ll start heading south. A temporary conclusion after exactly one week that we’re here is that 3 months in NZ is not enough… Yet, we’re trying to take things easy, and as a proof we even started the home schooling program.
Report to grandparents:
* Ophir can read Hebrew pretty well, but not quick enough.
* Ido’s Hebrew is progressing but still there is a lot of work. We’re only worried about him when he says in Hebrew “al-hapanim” instead of “alapanim”. Then we suspect that he’s in trouble.
*Shira is working on her English. She practices reading and doing well. We’re not going to bother her with Hebrew.
Shabat Shalom!
